DIMENSION ZERO SCIENCE MIND SCALE

Not everyone views science through the same lens.

Some demand hard evidence. Some embrace theoretical possibility. Others believe science will eventually explain anything imaginable. And some abandon science altogether.

The Dimension Zero Science Perspective Scale helps classify how people think about science, technology, and possibility.

THE TRADITIONALIST

“Show me the evidence.”

Traditionalists rely on established science, repeatable experiments, and demonstrated proof. If a concept has not been tested or verified, they remain skeptical.

They may believe:

  • Warp drives are fantasy

  • Wormholes are mathematical curiosities

  • Artificial gravity is science fiction

  • Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence

THE THEORIST

“If the math allows it, it deserves discussion.”

Theorists are open to frontier science and speculative physics, but still respect scientific discipline. If a concept is mathematically plausible and does not violate known physics, it remains worth exploring.

They may believe:

  • Wormholes could exist

  • Alcubierre warp drives are theoretically possible

  • Strange matter may be real

  • Dyson swarms may someday be engineered

THE FICTIONALIST

“Science may eventually solve today’s impossibilities.”

Fictionalists are optimistic about future science and engineering. They generally respect physics, but believe humanity may eventually overcome barriers that seem impossible today.

They may believe:

  • Interstellar human travel will happen

  • Artificial gravity may one day be engineered

  • Transporters could eventually become reality

  • Future science will unlock extraordinary technologies

THE EXTREMIST

“Science will eventually explain anything.”

Extremists still use scientific language, but push scientific ideas far beyond reasonable limits. They often turn speculation into certainty and use science to justify highly improbable or metaphysical conclusions.

They may believe:

  • Humans will ascend into higher dimensions

  • Consciousness will transcend physical reality

  • Quantum mechanics explains psychic phenomena

  • The multiverse will eventually be explored

The NIHILIST

“Science exists only to dissuade us from our true meaning”

This is where science is abandoned entirely. Evidence no longer matters, physics becomes negotiable, and reality is replaced by ideology, fantasy, or irrational claims.

They may believe:

  • Perpetual motion machines work

  • The laws of physics are a conspiracy

  • Scientists are hiding the truth

  • Gravity is fake

  • Reality works however belief says it does

Knowing someone’s science perspective helps define the conversation before it even begins.
